Wednesday, September 15 Last day in London

Today was our last day in London. Since the Internet connection is still very spotty, I will just give the briefest facts for the last todays.

Yesterday we went to a play at the Globe Theater. It was "Merry Wives of Windsor" and it was lots of fun. We sat in the top gallery and enjoyed the comedy. It really was comedy - with one actor using the style of John Cleese in Fawlty Towers and another carrying on like Detective Cluseau in the Pink Panther (can't remember his name). We were lucky (or smart) to have purchased seats under cover, as it did rain occasionally and the groundlings got pretty wet!

Today we toured the Globe Theater, then Buckingham Palace and finally the British Museum. It was all a bit overwhelming - especially the British Museum where we could easily have spent our whole week.

We have a new sim card for our phone - since the other one never did work. We will email Elspeth and Rob with it - or maybe try to call.

Tomorrow - on to Lyme Regis and our real walking tour. We did walk a lot here - at least 9 km on our shortest day - so we should be ready.
